Emma Mansfield

They/Them - She/Her . Chicago Based . Actor and Artist.

Hey, I’m Emma!

I am passionate about art in all ways. Through art we see ourselves, we see our lives, our feelings, our experiences. Art creates community, art creates connection, and art creates hope. My medium, theatre and film, finds humanity in people and brings that humanity to an audience.

I am interested in exploring what it means to be human, what it means to love, to hate, to feel shame, and to feel joy. And I’m interested in audiences seeing themselves in character on stage and screen, and feeling a little more welcome in the world. Seeing oneself in a character is one of the deepest way to explore ourselves. Characters put into words the feelings we cant understand.

Theatre is special to me because we watch these happen in real time. Watching an audience in the theatre may be just as interesting as watching the actors. A group of people connecting with an actor, saying the words they’ve been trying to find.

TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA - Kingsmen Shakespeare Company

Directed by Brett Elliott & Caitlin Arndt

June 7th - July 16th, 2023

“Everyone is brilliant, from the smallest of roles to the leads. The company is completely simpatico and the effect of all this fusion is sublime. It’s a fast-moving play, with twists and turns and robbers and plotters, but it’s romantic and hopeful and it all works out in the end…thankfully. I find myself looking for hopeful, healing stories lately, with everything going on in the world…and this play, by the wonderful Kingsmen players, is absolutely perfect!” - NOHO Arts District
